Our View

Take up in South East London & Kent exceeded 3m sq ft for the second successive year in 2021, with a total of 3.1m sq ft of space acquired.  Activity was boosted by a strong second half to the year, with three Big Box lettings completing.  The largest deal was the 449,000 sq ft letting of Power House in Dartford, whilst Asda took the former 148,750 sq ft Sheerness Produce Terminal at Sittingbourne in Q4 2021.

As with the other Glenny regions, early estimates for the first three months of this year show a slowing in take up, with a total of 423,025 sq ft acquired and a lack of larger lettings.  The largest deal concluding in Q1 was the 26,420 sq ft letting to North Kent Distribution at Unit B Acorn Industrial Estate, Crayford.
