Our View

Take up in the South East London & Kent industrial market totals 1.2m sq ft in the first three quarters of the year as a result of a lack of lettings in the Big Box sector.  Activity for the year is expected to approach 1.8-2.0m sq ft, with the second half of the year expected to boost the total.

The third quarter saw take up boosted by a number of Mid Box deals, with Furniture Hire taking 67,350 sq ft at Newtons Court in Dartford, whilst SelKent took the 52,800 sq ft Saxon 53 in Sittingbourne.  Two pre lets at phase 2 of Clearbell’s Loc8 Maidstone also completed adding a further 46,300 sq ft.
