Glenny brought onboard at DP World London Gateway’s Logistics Park

DP World London Gateway has appointed Glenny alongside incumbent agent Savills to market up to six million sq ft of warehousing space at its Logistics Park in Thurrock, Essex.

Located within the Port of London, DP World London Gateway is a multi-modal logistics hub and deep-seaport that handles the biggest container ships in the world, linking with 40 countries across six continents. This combination of deep-seaport, rail terminal, and logistics park make it one of the UK’s best locations for port-centric trade, which is just 30 miles away from Central London.

Now a government designated freeport, DP World London Gateway also guarantees a range of occupier benefits and ESG savings, including no business rates for the next five years, a reduction in national insurance contributions on any staff employed, and generous capital allowances on plant and machinery.

DP World London Gateway is now fast-tracking the development of premium warehousing space at its Logistics Park to accommodate a growing demand for online goods. This includes LG146, a new warehouse comprising 146,000 sq ft, and outline planning consent for an additional six million sq ft with the option to provide a single building of up to 1.5 million sq ft with 38 metre eaves.

John Bell, Managing Partner at Glenny and head of the firm’s Business Space Agency division said: “DP World London Gateway is a state-of-the-art logistics park that is setting the standard for ESG through supply chain integration. Now, thanks to its freeport status, new occupiers will also benefit from significant cost savings designed to support economic and employment opportunities from one of the UK’s best locations for port-centric trade.”

Jim O’Connell, Divisional Partner at Glenny, added: “In a world experiencing exponential e-commerce growth, port-centric logistics makes sense from a financial, efficiency and carbon reduction point of view. Now DP World London Gateway forms part of the Thames Freeport, there are even greater incentives with substantial tax benefits and customs facilitation, which together make it an extremely attractive location for a wide range of occupiers.”

Oliver Treneman, Park Development Director at DP World London Gateway, said: “The biggest of its kind in Europe, London Gateway Logistics Park offers an array of opportunities for businesses seeking access to fast and reliable links to international supply chains and markets. By supporting businesses with the scalability they need to grow, we aim to be a partner in our customers’ success.

“We are delighted to welcome Glenny, who will further amplify the multitude of advantages our freeport status provides to businesses. I would urge any company considering expansion to talk to us about the almost 10 million square feet of land with planning consent at the port and adjacent logistics park.”

The Logistics Park is next to DP World London Gateway Port and Rail Terminal and is just 10 miles from the M25 (J30) and 30 miles from Central London. Flexible lease terms are available, and a Local Development Order is in place to determine planning applications within 28 days.

Glenny is now marketing opportunities at the Logistics Park, including the new LG146 alongside joint commercial agent Savills.
