Our View

Take up in the Essex region remained above trend throughout last year, with total year activity of 2.03m sq ft. Lettings have been boosted by a strong year in the Big Box market, with four deals totalling 852,207sq ft accounting for 42% of overall take up. The largest letting remains the 410,000 sq ft letting to Zeigler at London Gateway in the first quarter of that year.

The first three months of 2025 started strongly, with more than 300,000 sq ft of lettings and the largest being at London Gateway, where Kent Foods took the 150,765 sq ft LG150. The other major transaction was the 78,990 sq ft letting at M Chelmsford on New Street.
